I increased my time therefore my distance but I feel great! I was able to continue breathing through my nose and swing my arms freely. A light sweat. My body responds well to exercise...I don't know why I don't do it more often! Oh, yeah, I remember ALL those other things on my plate that push this off... ;-) I need to "ramp it up" a bit more as this, although more than I usually do (nothing!), was not as much of a challenge. I'm not sure I can increase speed because this was a pretty fast walk. I could walk a little faster but I'd feel a little unsteady and would feel like turning it into a light jog. I don't want to jog. So, I think I need to increase my time or incline. Probably incline as squeezing more time out of my day would be difficult. Granted, I didn't get up early and do this workout (did it @ 9am or so) so that's what I could do to increase my time. But, with our eratic "schedule" getting to bed at a consistent time is challenge enough all ready. So, I'll begin with increasing the incline and worry about the next "ramp up" when I've gotten used to this one. ;-)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Oh, and dh hasn't done the video with me. Actually, the rain has kept us in for the last month or so and I could have been hitting the treadmill but the "lazy days of summer" routine is hard to break out of. ;-)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, with fall, we hit the books harder since we are inside more and with the both of those comes the necessity of working of some energy that getting stored up again. Me too...not just the children. So, it's the perfect time of year to schedule in the treadmill, weights and exercise videos...again!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My dh wants to start exercising with me every day too (except Sunday he said - glad we agree on that ;-) ). The chirpractor gave him an excercise video about a year ago that I/we have never done so that's what he wants us to do as a couple. He all ready has a very basic routine that he does when he gets motivated now and then (crunches, some weights, stretching, etc.) otherwise he has the metabolism and type of job that he doesn't have to do much to keep weight off. He has started to notice some flabby "love handles"...getting a little soft around the middle...an age thing I think...that he wants to "nip in the bud." I won't mind having company in my efforts to get rid of this baby pudge even if it is easier for him to lose than me. :-D&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today's treadmill workout for me:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Time = 20:49 min.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Distance = 1 mile&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Laps = 4&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Speed = up to 3&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Incline = 1.5&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Calories = 109&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fat calories = 34.2&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The children previewed the video for dh and me while I walked and did a few of the stretches.  Hopefully, dh and I can do it together in the morning tomorrow.  It's called &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Yoga Sculpt&lt;/span&gt; by Karen Voight. So is my pregnancy. 5 (almost 6) wks postpartum. Bleeding ended this past Sat. the 4th. I can finally begin excercising. I do not know what my beginning weight is though as the past midwife appt. was a home visit and I don't have a scale. My next appt. is at their new clinic and I hope I remember to weigh myself. I've already lost nearly all of the pregnancy weight I think as the "regular" clothes I was wearing last summer are fitting me about the same as they did then (after the mole and all). My weight a week before P. was born was 186 lb. Pre-pregnancy was 160.5 lb. I'm curious to see what it will be next week...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This new start is being supported and encouraged by my dsil - whom I am offering the same. She lives in CA but we are IMing each other at a certain time each day, exercising for a certain length of time and then IMing each other again to talk about it, praise each other, etc. We used to do this kind of thing in high school with various things to help motivate each other. It's more fun with a friend that's for sure! :-)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm upping my water intake in the sidebar from 1/2 gallon to 1 full gallon every day due to my midwife's recommendation. I had very high blood pressure problems after P.'s birth and it's still a bit on the high side.
